Matthias Walder: Luca, as UPTO’s fleet manager, first met us during a meeting with our insurance partner AXA Switzerland, he presented UPTO fleet management and the available modules. We were convinced by his open communication, he showed us quite transparently potential savings without us having to directly replace the complete vehicles. Another point was a vehicle sale 2019, which Luca already carried out for us, whereby he was able to get significantly more out for us during the sale. We were positively surprised how much is feasible thanks to access to appropriate professional platforms and expertise.
Since then, we have benefited from one central point in particular: the personal support from Luca, who is the point of contact for everyone and every topic. Where we used to struggle with questions and had to invest a lot of time in clarifications, he now takes care of everything for us. Even if we have questions ourselves. He also advises us proactively and at an early stage – for example, if replacing a vehicle makes more sense than repairing it.
In the past, we did not have a really uniform fleet, especially with regard to vehicle equipment. For the assembly team, it had to be larger vehicles in which a workbench could also be integrated, and for the service team, more maneuverable vehicles that were also well suited for the city. At the beginning, Luca had compiled all the costs of all the vehicles and showed us the advantages of a uniform procurement. Since then, we have also changed brands after Luca’s full costing came out significantly better compared to our requirements.
